Use starting prices to shortlist, then compare the actual quote
Every authored price on this site is in US dollars. Amounts were retrieved from GetYourGuide’s public widget for the exact six product IDs on 5 November 2026. We preserve the supplied decimal amounts instead of converting an Australian-dollar price or relabelling its currency.
The source describes these as individual, per-person starting prices. They are listing-wide minimums: the amount does not establish the price for a particular date, adult category, departure time or selected option. The booking widget may display rounded prices or a different live amount. Enter your actual travellers and date before deciding.
Read the duration alongside the price
A short fixed-wing flight, a longer island-and-reef flight and a full-day cruise with a brief helicopter segment buy different things. In the Cairns cruise combination, the advertised 8.5 hours includes the cruise and reef activities; only ten minutes are the scenic helicopter flight. Dividing its price by the full day does not compare like-for-like with a flight-only ticket.
The Cairns Outer Reef listing describes a 40-minute flight but also mentions a 30-minute option with a different passenger weight limit. Check the option you actually select. The minimum may not be the quote for the longer flight. Likewise, Fly Australia’s 65-minute listing header and 60-minute included flight should not be read as identical measures.
Transfers can change the practical cost
The selected Airlie Beach flights include specified return transport arrangements. That is valuable only if your accommodation or chosen meeting point is served. A missed shuttle or an unserved pickup point can mean arranging your own transport. An island ferry is not automatically part of a mainland hotel transfer.
For Cairns, check whether the flight option includes pickup. Requested transfers for the cruise-and-helicopter product are extra. Compare the door-to-door plan rather than assuming that every “Cairns departure” starts at your hotel or at the same terminal.
Food, equipment and optional dives
The flight-only listings mainly cover the aerial experience and the stated ground arrangements. Access to an airport café is not a meal inclusion. If you are choosing a full-day product, look for lunch, snorkelling equipment and any chargeable suit or mask hire in the exact option.
The Cairns cruise lists a pre-booked dive only when the dive package is selected. Extra dives and guided certified dives may cost more. Diving also introduces suitability and scheduling questions; do not add it solely because a price difference seems small. Fly Raft lists lunch and equipment, with drinks, snacks and a public-holiday surcharge outside the base inclusions. Confirm the surcharge currency and final total before paying.
A quick comparison checklist
- Use the same date and passenger categories for each quotation.
- Confirm flight minutes separately from total excursion duration.
- Check whether your exact pickup is included.
- Review meals, equipment, fees and paid extras.
- Read cancellation terms for the whole trip and any separately cancelled flight component.
- Compare the final total and suitability before confirming payment.
